GREAT HISTORIC FILM.
RISE OF BRITISH EMPIRE. SUGGESTION TO MR. AMEKT. "INCALCULABLE VALUE." (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Beporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The wonderful possibilities of a great Empire film, depicting the arrival and lives of the early pioneers in the various British Dominions, and the birth of history and civilisation in far-flung parts of Greater Britain, were urged upon Mr. L. S. Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions, by Mr. A. Bell, M.P. (Bay of Islands) as a matter of Imperial and Empire interest. Mr. Amery met Mr. Bell by appointment at Government House and took up the project enthusiastically. He informed Mr. Bell that a British official had been sent to America to investigate the film industry, and this proposal would be referred to that official, who would ascertain its probable cost. Mr. Amery said he realised that such a film would have to be of the very highest world standard. The value of such a film from the Imperial point of view would be incalculable.
