DOUBLE FIRE

TWO OUTBREAKS IN HOUSE. TWO-STOREYED BUILDING LOST.

1 Although both the One Tree Hill and Ellerslie Fire Brigades turned out, nothing could be done to save a two-storeyed house of eight rooms which was burned about 6 o'clock last evening. About 3 o'clock this morning the remains, which were still smouldering, broke out again, but the Ellerslie brigade, which turned out alone, soon put the flames out. Owned and occupied by Mrs. Florence Barriball, the house stood in Rockfield Road, One Tree Hill. There was nobody in the building when the fire started. Mrs. Barriball went out abou} 5.30, and when she came back the place was blazing.

The building was insured, but the particulars are not yet available.
