RACEHORSES' NAMES.
"Student" informs us that he (or she) has been struck by the ignorance displayed about racehorses' names by the racing men ami women of Auckland, and, no doubt, he would like the rest of New Zealand included, for I have heard the names he mentions pronounced practically the same way throughout the country. "Student" should remember it takes all classes to make the world a success, and we have not all had the opportunity of being students. If "Student" is so concerned, let me suggest him approaching the New Zealand Broadcasting Company and arrange to give us a lesson per wireless, say once a week, on the pronunciation of racehorses' names. I am sure IYA would be only too pleased to spare him a few minutes on their programme, as they must have a difficult tai-k arranging a full programme six nights of the week, and I am sure the racing folk of Auckland as weU as we listeners-in would be only too pleased to learn, and no doubt would be as highly amused as "Student" was.
INTERESTED.
