BARTHOLOMEW—HERDMAN.

The wedding of Hazel Eva, eldest daughter of Mr. Justice Herdman and the late Mrs. Herdman, to Thomas James, eldest son- of Mr- and Mrs. Bartholomew, of Woombye, Queensland, took place in the Methodist Church, Woombye, on October 8, when the Rev. J. H. Heaton officiated. The bride is the niece of Mr. A. M. Smith, of Napier, and is related to other Hawke's Bay families as well. The bride was accompanied by Miss Una Smith, her frock being of white brocaded taffeta beaded in gold. The smbroidered veil was arranged cap fashion with orange blossoms, and formed the train. Her bouquet was of arum lilies. The Misses Grace and Olive Bartholomew were bridesmaids, the former n apricot brocaded marocain, with touches of old rose, the hat being to! natch, and the bouquet of carnations to •.one. Her sister was in flame coloured narocain, trimmed with silver; her hat oned with her frock, and the bouquet ■arried was of gerberas and ferns. Mr. Fames Bartholomew was best man, and Ur. Bland Bartholomew groomsman. Hiss Una Smith was in lavender maristte with a hat to match, her bouquet >eing of larkspurs. After the ceremony ibout forty guests were entertained at Tvoon lvalo," the home of Miss Una Smith.
