FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Franklin County Council decided to comply with a petition from the Pollock ratepayers to form a special rating area to raise a roan of £500 to provide the council's contribution towards the cost of the proposed new wharf; also to comply with petitions for the raising of loans of £900, to provide half cost of metalling the Papa-rimu-Maungatawhirl Road from Milbank's Junction to Moumoukal Valley Road, and £400 for metalling from Two Bridges to Milbank's.

The Minister of-Public Works authorised a grant of £250, £2 for £1, to re-erect the Portsmouth Road Bridge, Bombay, destroyed by flood.

In reply to a deputation, it was agreed that the deviation on Irwin's Road, Karaka, be formed this season.

The council agreed to bear an equal share with tile Otaua Drainage Board of the cost of erecting a bridge over the Awaroa creek at SummervUle's Corner.
