SHORTAGE OF MATERIA!,.
HOLD-UP ONLY TEMPORARY.
A temporary delay has occurred in the construction of the new railway sheds at Otahuhu, owing to the nonarrival of further supplies •»; steel girders from England. It is expected, novevei, that operations wil lb-j rcsumod at the end of the month, as tpe necessary steel work is coming out by the steamer Matakana, due at Auckland on Monday week
Unfortunately it has l)een necessary to discharge temporarily some of the men ingaged on the steel buildings, though they will be wanted again shortly. On the other hand, the contractors have engaged a number of men to hasten the erection of the wooden buildings, which has not been affected.
