COOL STORAGE OF FRUIT.
DR. KIDD'S INVESTIGATION.
SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
HASTINGS, Monday.
Dr. Franklin Kidd, of the Low-Tem-perature Research Station at Cambridge, England, who was commissioned by the New Zealand Government to report on progress relating to Home supply and the transport of fruit, is nearing the end of his investigations. He will leave Auckland on Tuesday by the Aorangi. This week Dr. Kidd will meet the committee set up by the Fruit Control Board, the function of which is to prescribe for pre-shipment and the subsequent cool storage conditions for export fruit. Suggestions for their improvement will be sought from Dr. Kidd. The value of the closer contact between the low-temperature research station at Cambridge, which will -result from Dr. Kidd's visit, will be a distinct advantage to workers in cool-storage problems and the fruitgrowing industry generally in New Zealand.
