MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS.
In presenting to the board the p***+im t* merge Mount Roskill with the city, Mr. Shatfaiford could give no great reason why Moot Roskill should join. As one of the g*—t number taking up residence at Mount Boridß when the private bus companies gave cheap, rapid transit, I think it humiliating tfeit are called upon to bow to the '"monopdr" for teams. The residents are certain te get far better treatment from a transport bout than at the hands of the city. In the e*m of another loan poll by city ratepayers, it "u quite possible that Mount UnskiH would aguu be turned down, even if we joined, for Mont Roskill would be considered a remote cans of the city. The rating question a Toy important, but it is quite apparent the übproved "live wires" have not been oogk; napping. When the time arrives, it it to be hoped the ratepayers will take a similar stui to their neighbour, the splendid borough «f Mount Eden, and stand firm for local garamment. GREATER MOUNT ROSEHJL
