THE METAL MARKETS. _ LONDON, October 10. (Quotations on October 6 in parentheses.; Copper.—Spot, £54 1/10% (£54 16/3); three months, £54 6/10% (£54 0/7%). Lead.—Spot, £20 2/6 (£2O 1/3); three months, £20 15/ (£2O 13/9). Spelter.—Spot, £26 16/3 (£26 8/9); three months, £26 12/6 (£26 6/3). Tin.—Spot, £266 7/6 (£264 12/6); three months, £264 5/ (£262 2/6). Silver.—Standard. 25 13-16 d (25% d) per oz; fine, 27 %d (27% d).
WHEAT. Cargoes are steady and quotations are occasionally 3d higher. Buyers are awaiting American and Canadian reports Parcel* are quiet at 3d advance. Liverpool futures: October, 10/4% per cental; December, 10/6%; March, 10/6%; Slay, 10/5. BRADFORD TOPS. The Bradford tope market is quiet and firm and quotations are fully maintained. NEW SOUTH WALES POTATOES. SYDNEY, October 11. The New South Wales Agricultural Department's report shows that the potato crops generally are in a backward state owing to want of rain and continued cold weather, but a large area in the main crop districts has been prepared and now that rain has fallen planting will be undertaken. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 10- a.m.) CHICAGO, October 10. Wheat for delivery in December is quoted at Chicago at $1.31% per bushel. For March delivery the rate is $1.34%, and for May, $1.37. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 10.30 a.m.) CHICAGO, October 21. Wheat for delivery in December is quoted at Chicago at f1.30% per bushel. For March delivery the rate is 81.33%, and for May $1.35%. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, October 10. At the Sydney wool sales to-day the market re-opened to keen competition. Prices for best wools ruled on a par with closing rates of last week, but average and inferior sorts showed a decidedly easier tendency. Greasy Merino sold to 29% d.
