SALES AT WESTFIELD. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, beef was pewied in large numbers, mostly of good qffility. Values dropped by 2/ to 3/ per 1001b. Extra choice ox sold from 30/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 25/ to 29/; ordinary and plain ox, 22/ to 24/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 24/ to 26/; ordinary cow beef, 20/ to 23/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £13 10/ to £-14 17/6; heavy prime steers. £12 to £13 5/; lighter prime steers, £10 10/ to £11 17/6; light prime steers, £fl 5/ to £10 7/6; small and unfinished, £7 10/ to £9 2/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £8 to £9 10/; Heavy prime cows and heifers, £7 to £7 17/u; lighter prime cows and heifers, £6 to £6 17/6; other killable cows, £3 10/ to £4 15/; light cows, £5 to £5 17/6. Seven steers from ;Mr. Jas. Taylor, Cambridge, averaged £14 1/6. Alfred BuflUand and Sons, Ltd., report: To-day at weekly Westfield fat stock market our supply of fat cattle 533 head, aa compared with 340 at last Wednesday's sale, comprising 328 steers.. 205 cows and heifers. There were many lines of extra prime cattle.. The demand was less keen, and values were lower for all classes, heavy steers king affected most. Prices are aa follow: —Extra choice ox sold to £1 10/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, from £1 7/ to £1 9/; ordinary and plain ox, £1 5/ to £1 6/6; prime young cow and heifer beef, £13/ to £l 5/; ordinary cow beef, £1 to £1 2/6; extra heavy prime steers ranged, in price from £13 to £14; heavy prime steers, £11 10/ to £12 17/6; lighter prime isteers, £10 to £11 7/6; light prime steers, £8 10/. to £9 17/6; small and unfinished fteers, £6 17/6 to £8 7/6; extra heavy prime yoiing cows and heifers, £8 to £9; heavy prime cowj and neifflrs, £7 to £7 17/6; lighter prime cows and heifers, 45 10/ to £6 17/6; other killable cows, £3 15/ to £5 7/6. : One extra heavy steer from Mr. W.
