BOON TO CRICKET.

DAYLIGHT SAVING LAW. MR. SIDEY CONGRATULATED. (By Telegraph.—Prese Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The prediction that New Zealand will be a great cricketing country was made this morning by Mr. Dan Reese, chairman of the Cricket Council, when speaking on behalf of a representative deputation that congratulated Mr. T. K. Sidey, M.P., on the passing of the Summer Time Bill. Representatives of cricket, football, athletics, tennis, and racing, and also the commercial travellers, took part. Mr. Sidey said there were possible difficulties, but if the system were only given a fair trial by the farmers the difficulties would be removed for all time. It would mean a new era for cricket in New Zealand.
