INSPECTORS APPOINTED.

TWO WELLDTGTOH HEADMASTERS. TO SERVE IN AUCKLAND DISTRICT. Two Wellington headmasters have been appointed school inspectors for the Auckland educational district. They are: Mr. B. N. T. Blake, M.A., headmaster of the Thorndon Normal Schoc!;' and Mr. C. A. dimming, M.A., headmaster of th<» Miramar South School. Mr.

ui me jj.lra.luar ouuua ccinjui. jii. Blake has had 29 years' service in the teaching profession, practically for the whole of the time under the Wellington Education Board. He was first assistant at the Mount Cook Boys , School, Wellington, from which he was appointed first assistant at the Kelburn Normal SchooL For some time he occupied the position of head-r.aster at Kelburn, during the absence in England of the headmistress, Miss Maitland. His latest appointment was that of headmaster of the Thorndon Normal SchooL which he took up three years ago. For many years Mr. Blake has acted as representative of the teachers on the Teachers' Appeal Board, throughout the Dominion, and he has also occupied a prominent position on the Teachers' Educational Institute, of which he was i president last year. Mr. Cumming. a trained New South Wales teacher, took an extended course in agriculture a.t Hawkesbnry College, New South Wales, before coming to New Zealand under engagement to the Wellington Education Board. He held the position of agricultural organiser for a number of years, with headquarters at Masterton. Some years ago he was appointed headmaster of the District High School at Waipawa, Hawke's Bay. Later he waa appointed headmaster of the Mirmar South SchooL a position which he now holds. The Auckland Education Board has been advised that an effort will be made to release Messrs. Blake and Cumming from their present duties in time to take up their new appointments by the middle of October.
