CONFUSED LAND TITLE.
DEFECT IN DEED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The arrangement between the Morrinsrille Borough Council and the Education Board in respect of the title to
a piece of land on the river bank had been delayed for a long time pending an opportunity of conferring with the District Land Registrar concerning the defect in the deed, reported the borough solicitors to a meeting of the Morrinsville Council last evening. It was stated that when the Morrinsville school site waa surveyed, a strip approximately half a chain in width waa left between the south-east boundary and the Waitakaruru Stream. A transfer in favour of the Education Board of the area shown in the survey plan, exclusive of the half-chain strip, was duly registered against the title of the original Morrinsville township. After certain transactions, which did not affect the strip, had been registered against the old. title, it wa? wholly cancelled and a new title issued for the residue. The strip referred to was not shown on the new title or on subsequent ones, and it would be necessary to take steps to arrange the title of the area.
