ENGLISHMAN KILLED.
SHOT DEAD BY MASKED SPANISH BANDITS. WHILE RIDING MOTOR CYCLE.
News has reached Middlesbrough, England, that Mr. Herbert Cecil Home, aged 27, has been killed in an affray with bandits at Oviedo, in Northern Spain. Mr. Home, who wae employed by the Asturiania Mines, Ltd., an iron ore raining firm, was motor cycling from Ovadonga to Bufanera, in the Asturias, with another Teesider, Mr. George Teesdale, when a pair of masked bandits attacked them and shot Mr. Home dead. Mr. Teesdale was captured, but released after giving up his watch and about £1 in cash. * Their assailants apparently were under the impression that they were carrying a large sum of money in their motor cycles to pay wages. The culprits are believed to be unemployed men turned bandits.
