BIG FIGHT SENSATION.
"TUNNEY WAS KNOCKED OUT." Champion Down No Less Than 15 Seconds In Seventh Round. CRITICS SAY HOLDER VERY LUCKY. American cports writers are unanimous that Tunney was the luckiest champion who ever retained his crown, for in the seventh round he was down 1 5 seconds, and only the fact that the referee refused to count until six seconds had passed enabled him to stagger to his feet. One New York critic says he was down 1 5 seconds, if not more, and apparently Tunney would not have been able to get up had the count started immediately. Dempsey, it seems, did not go to a neutral corner after knocking Tunney down.
