ACCIDENT TO THE MOA.

A DIFFICULT TASK.
Further particulars of the accident to the scow Mo*, which was dismasted off Coast, were supplied by the officers and men of the steamer Apanui, which arrived at Auckland about noon to-day. Apanui sighted the Moa at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday near Houhora Heads. The scow had lost her foremast and her main topmast, and had three anchors down. There was a strong north-easterly wind blowing and a high sea was running. The ApanuT herself had had a very rougl passage up the coast, and her crew could feel for the unfortunates in the Moa. After discharging as quickly as possible at'Houhora, the Apanti returned U the Heads, and the Moa passed her a line. The erew of the Moa had great difficulty in raising the anchors, as th< " three cables had bieome badly tanked. About noon the two vessels left Houhora Heads for Awanui.
