HELENSVILLE SWIMMING. LIF&SAVING PROFOSALi. At the annual meeting of the Helensvllle Amateur Swimming Club, presided over by the president, Mr. J. K. Stewart, the report and b:i lance-rfheet disclosed a saHsfactory position. Local swimmers competed with success In carnivals to Auckland and I>argavtlle. The balanee-®heet eJliowei a profit of £6 17/2. It was decided to hold a concert at an early date, at which the fine collection of cups and trophies won during the season would be presented, the profits to go towards the tuition of school children In swimming. The election of officers resulted :—Patroness, Mrs. T. Keane; president, Mr. J. K. Stewart; vice-president, Mr. F. F. Heldt; secretary and treasurer, Miss K. Contts; club captain, Mr. R. Sellars (men), Miss R. Eddlestone (hldies) ; committee, Messrs. A. Brackebuah, If 1 . Per.gelly, 11. It. Ilill, Mrs. McMurdo. and Miss Z. Menzies: judges, Messrs. F. F. Heldt, A, I. McLeod, I>. Quarrie; starter, Mr. A. Brackebush ; timekeepers, Messrs. J. K.' Stewart, J. A. Stanaw'ay, 11. R. Hill ; handicappers, Messrs. 11. Pengelly, ,T. K. Stewart, J. A. Stanaway; education officer, Mr 11. R. Hill.
A motion to have one handicapper instead of three was lost. It was decidcd to hold a life-saving class apart from the club night and to affiliate with the Auckland Lifesaving Centre.
