DAMAGES AWARDED.

CLAIM FOR TRESPASS.

COMBINED BUYERS, LTD., SUED.

(3y Telegraph.—Press Association-) , WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Judgment was given for Harold Edward Taylor in his claim against Combined Buyers, Ltd., for trespass and wrongful conversion. He claimed £1000. After evidence had been heard Mr. Justice Reed said it was very dangerous for the company to take the law into its own hands. Plaintiff was entitled to some damages, but they were little more than nominal. He thought he would be doing justly if he assessed them at £25. He also entered judgment for £36, the value of plaintiff's goods removed.

The counter-claim for £107 was referred to the registrar, and the case adjourned for his report.
