WAIKATO RIVER FALLING.
STATION ALMOST CLEAR.

MERCER, this day.
Yesterday there was 15in of water on the road at the back of the station, but during the night the river fell rapidly, with the result that at 1 p.m. there were only Bin of water covering the metal. >'•/•■■■■
Good work is being accomplished bv the Public Works Department in raising the road, and, provided the weather holds good, it is anticipated that the job Will be completed up to time.
