TEMPORARY TRANSFER.
SOUTH ISLAND ALARMED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Apprehension regarding the possibility of moneys standing to the credit of the South Island in the revenue fund of the Main Highways Board being expended in the North Island as the result of the action of the board in temporarily transferring £350,000 from the revenue fund to the construction fund, was expressed at la9t night's meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Progress League.
The league decided to forward a strong protest against the board's action to Mr. D. 6. Sullivan, MJP., with the request that he convey it to the Prime Minister to-day, when the South Island members of Parliament are to discuss the matter with him.
