LONDON, August 28. The Mayor of Hford {Essex) objected to an alderman's proposal, that cross seats should be fitted in the London tramcare to prevent €he embarrassment of bashful gentlemen sitting opposite short-skirted girls. . "Leg shows," the Mayor declared, were a great attraction op the trams, which were a heavy burden on the taxpayers.
