INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE FORMED. With a view to popularising automobilism internationally by organised propaganda, a committee consisting of Mr. Roy D. Chapin (United States). Baron Petiet (France), Mr. Hacking (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, England), and Herr Hanel (Austria and Germany), lias been appointed by a conference of the Bureau Permanent International de Constructeurs d'Automobiles held in Paris in July. The propaganda commissioned i> inquiring concerning the obstacle?
standing in the way of further development of the motor movement such as excessive taxation, inadequate road conditions, lack of pa rape accommodation or of service, high cost of fuel, legisla-
tion, and other points, and when the preliminary inquiries are complete propaganda will be launched in favour of reforms.
