Interviewed this morning, tbe bi«bop •poke of the remarkable growth which baa taken place in Sydney in tbe put six or seven years. Besides the formation of fine motoring roads and the erection of a huge number of big buildings for commercial purposes, there had been many new ehurchea built. Tbe architecture of the«e was much more beautiful than that which was tbe vogue ten years ago. while in Australia Dr. Wbyte attended meetings in connection with the Euchar* istic Congress in order to get information which he could pass on to his people in Dunedin. At these meeting* were present especially-appointed representative priests from all parts of the Commonwealth.
There was in Australia, said Uμ bishop, a gnat love of amusement, but it was a very great mistake to think that tba churches were being affected by this. This wan the opinion of only superficial observers. If anyone went into the question be would find it was not so. Some people did not want to find the real position and consequently did not. The bishop had formed hit opinion from his own observations. Qe had seen Urge churches filled Sunday after Sunday.
