LIMERICK AND COMMENDATION.

As Limerick and Commendation had not met as three-year-olds, opinions were divided as ot the merits of the pair. Limerick performed brilliantly in Australia last season, while Commendation proved himself easily the best three-year-old racing in the Dominion. Limerick had been the more truly tested for he had beaten such good horses as Windbag and Valicare. Their first meeting since two-year-olds was at Warwick Farm on Saturday, and from the brief report cabled, Limerick came with a great run at the finish and beat Amounis by a head, while Commendation was third. The first round, therefore, is to Limerick, who beat Commendation two out of three times as a juvenile. Their next meeting will probably be in the Chelmsford Stakes, one mile and a furlong, at Tattersall'a meeting in Sydney on Saturday next.
