LAST SEASON'S CHEESE.
LARGE PAYMENT.THIS WEEK. DAIRY BOARD'S ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. The secretary of the Dairy Produce Board, Mr. T. C. Brash, stated to-day that the board will pay out on about September 9 a sum slightly over £300,000 to cheese factories in the Dominion. This will bring the average price on cheese shipped during the past season up to the following figures, on factory weights:—Finest, 7 3-16 d per lb; first grade,, 6 15-16 d per lb; second grade, 6 11-16 d per lb. If the average is taken on sale weights, after allowing for shrinkage, it represents approximately 3-lOd better than the figures set out above. It is unlikely there will be any further payment until all the proceeds of the cheese graded up to July 31 have been disposed of.
