TWO OCCTTPUTI ESCAPE.
A DANGEROUS CROSSING.

WHAXGAREI, Friday.
Mr. James PiTlrington, of Kama, with a passenger whom he was driving in a car had a miraculous escape at McLeod's Crossing, between Hiknrangi and Kamo, about eight o'clock to-night. Mr. Pflkingion was going in the direction of Hikurangi when he collidud with a coal train running to Wh&ngarei.
The engine str-jck tee front of the car and slashed it. Tfae two occupants had a miraculous escape and were practically uninjured. Mr. PiOdngton was unable to say how the accident happened. The crossing is a very dangerous one and the local bodies of the district have bees agitating for its removal for some time.
