Thousands Rendered Homeless
And Destitute.
NUMEROUS DEATHS CAUSED.
LONDON, September 2.
Accounts of devastating floods in Poland have reached London from Warsaw. These say it is estimated that 180 deaths have been caused and 10,000 persons have been rendered homeless destitute.
The damage done by the floods la estimated at £1,000,000. Several small towns have been completely destroyed. It is still raining heavily. The Polish Government Is rushing relief measures. Aeroplanes have taken a prominent part in effecting hazardous rescues.' —(A. and N.Z. and Sydney "Sun.")
FLOODS IN GALICIA.
OVER 160 DEATHS BEPOSTED.
BERLIN, September 2.
One hundred and fifty deaths are reported daring the Galician floods, when bridges across the San and Dniester rivers collapsed. Railways were torn np, mine* flooded and dozens of villages inundated. Pramysl was . severely damaged, and extensive stocks of oil at Drohobycs were destroyed.
