Pisa Leans A Farther Third Of An Inch. NO IMMEDIATE DAHGEft. LONDON, August 18.
The Rome correspondent of the "Daily Mail" says a commission of experts has reported that the Leaning Tower of Pisa has deflected one-third of an inch in nine years. There is no immediate danger of the collapse of the tower, but the experts recommend tbe stabilisation of the foundations in order to prerent a further declination.—(A. and X.Z. and Srdner "Sun.")
The famous Leaning Tower of Pisa is a campanile built entirely of marble, and standing lTSVjit htsh. The erection of tbe tower was commenced in 1171. and was completed in 1250. It is 19ft ont of the perpendicular.
