He i>,dmjtt«d that it was a seasonal occupation to a large extent. the best s>ca son being from spring to autumn. If a dry spell set in early be bojied that work would be offering vithm a few weeks, as he had found that the weather had considerable effcct at this tjmt of the year upon the amount of employment available.
"'We are not all loafers." said a landscape gardener, "'and we are anxious to get work of this kind." Another said that he had had extensive experience at a landscape gardener in a Southern citr, and had been ia Auckland for five years. He had been compelled to do labouring w'otk. and was only too anxious to get back to his old occupation. Another said that he had been making long trips on a bicycle ia search of work, but had had the mortifying erperiencc of always finding the positions filled. He had been fifteen years in Auckland, and wa.fi his worst experience.
