A section of the Anekland referees win have a holiday on Saturday, which they will celebrate by a journey' to Helensville. where they will play their annual match against the Kaipara. junior reps. In all the touring party will number about 25 referees, and they win go north by the 8.30 a-in. train on Saturday. The weekend will be spent at Helensville, a return being made on Monday morning. In fulfilling a challenge to the Taihape Rugby Union for the Pownall trophy, the Rangitikei. representative team played Taihape at Taihape to-day. The game was fast, open and exciting. Although the score at half-time was 6 points to 5 in favour of Taihape. the Taihape team succeeding finally in defeating the visitors bv 22 points to 10. E. Sinclair received severe injuries, and left the field. Sinclair, who is a great asset to the team, is also a member of the Wanganui rep. team to tour Wairarapa. As a result of the accident Sinclair will be unavailable for the tour.
