It was decided tiiat counsel's opinion be obtained from Mr. M»rtin e { the Municipal Association. Kerbside Tumps.—Mr. W. L. Richards, of Arawa Street, enclosed a petition from shop keepers in Arawa Street, stating that thc.v did not consider that the erection of pumps in Arawa Street would be detrimental. but rather the reverse. The council decidcd that as the licensc asked for was in tic prohibited area the prt-itioncr* be informed that the council could not take any action without the decision as to the area being rescinded. Ranolf Street Crossing.—A letter was received from the District Traffic Manager of Railways. Councillor Tapper spoke strongly on the matter, and said "tlaat there were human live* to be considered beside motor cars," and it was agreed that the Works Committee of the council wait upon the engineer when he is vita tine Rotorua. ®
