WINTER EXHIBITION.
MANUFACTURERS SATISFIED.
BETTER THAN LAST YEAR.
The success of the recent Winter Exhibition from the point of view of 1 h,-> Auckland Manufacturers* A--rniatio.i was referred to at yesterday'.- meeting of that body by the chairman (Mr. J. A. C. Allum).
All the space, he said, had been allotted and sold almo-t three weeks before the fixture opened. Ore thine that showed the popularitv of the show from the point of view of the exhibitor was that one man dropped out of taking space at the last moment, owing to illness on the day the exhibition opened, and the space was almost immediately taken up. It was anticipated that expenses wonid not be so high this Tear as previously, and if the estimate of £200 of the damage done by tire at the show was correct, there would be no diffi culty in settling the matter satisfactorily to evervone.
The secretary (Mr. -T. estimated that the returns would be from £200 to £300 better this year than last.
Further reference to the exhibition was deferred, pending the receipt of accounts.
