Strenach, of the Canadian Government, owner of Rocky Mountain Park, Banff, has received notice of a claim for injuries suffered by Mrs. Marion Laurie, of London. She was bitten by a bear on May 31 en route from England after a visit to her brother in Australia. The amount of the claim is indefinite, as tbe extent of the permanency of the injuries is undetermined. Mrs. Laurie purchased chocolates at the tea house to give to the bear and when leaving the door was faced by the bear, which reared, pawed with its arms and bit Mrs. Laurie on the forearm. It was a deep wound and she was in hospital in Canada for three days, being still a patient in Loudon.
