The -hip would take a wide berth of Cape Horn before setting her course for the lotl l* tip up the coast to Montevideo for coaling. The wireless station which received the S.O.S. signal was at liivadavia, on the Gulf of St. George. It not the furthest south station, as another was situated on Tierra del Fuego.
