RUFFIAN CHASED BY GIRL.
"KNOCKED OUT ON FOOTPATH"
SEQUEL TO AN ASSAULT.

In the Police Court this morning Norman S. I'arker, a young man, was charged with indecent assault, aggravated assault, and obscene language.
Senior-Sergeant McLean said no evidence would he offered on the first charge and that accused pleaded guilty to the other charges. The offences occurrt'd last March and shortly after they were committed Parker was chased by a young girl, who fought him and knocked him out on the footpath.
''There never was a braver act on the prirt of a girl," added the seniorsergeant. "Accused cleared out, but recently he was arrested in Wairoa."
The Bench sentenced accused to three months' hard labour.
