NEW LYNN ANGLICAN CHURCH.
FOUNDATION STONE LAID. ARCHBISHOP AVEELLL'S ADDRESS. . The ceremony of laying the foundation stone ot the Church of St. Thomas at Xew Lynn, took place yesterday afternoon i* the presence of a good gathering of those interested. The building is to be of briek, situated in Islington Avenue, on a site adjoining the old church. The nave is to be 54 feet in length and "24 feet in width. There will be a chancel 19 feet by 21 feet, and a vestry 10 feet by 12. The plans also provide for a porch and a square tower 26 feet high. The roof of the church will be of tile?. jSo tar the parishioners have contributed : £750 towards the cost of the bnildin?, I for which the contract price is £18ia. The offertory at the ceremony yesterday afternoon amounted to £113. Archbishop Avuriil's message to the (parishioners of New Lynn was: "Go forI ward with great principles of taiw, [courage and peiscverencc in your heart?, ifor without these nothing cau be acconi-'nli.-h<v)."
