FARMERS LACK UNITY.
A DAIRYMAN'S VIEWPOINT. Referring to the failure of the Dairy Boards control policy, Mr. Thoe. Bassett, managing director of the Northern Wairoa ( o-operative Dairy Company, said at ( Saturday'« meeting of shareholders:— "It ie evident that we farmers cannot be kept solid upon any policy that may be determined upon, for our own benefit. Those who want to batten upon our industry, have only to get to work among us and we scatter like sheep. There was a big majority in favour of control when the first poll wa taken; when the opposition got to work, our ideas of control then evaporated. We are now back to our old style of doing business, with the usual horde of agents who think dairy company directors very fine fellows, and are prepared to do their business for them.
