UNEMPLOYMENT AT THAMES.

MAYOR'S RELIEF FUND, £450.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

THAMES, Fridav.

The citizens of Thames have subscribed £450 to the Mayor's Fund for the relief of unemployment.

At a meeting of the Borough Council last evening Mr. Bongard stated that the concreting of Willoughby Street would commence as soon as it was sanctioned by the Public Works Department, probably next week. It was mentioned that over 90 unemployed had registered locally. The Mayor and Messrs. Bush, Morley and Cropp were deputed to choose the workmen.
