ANOTHER RAID.
GAMING-HOUSE AT PONSONBY.
TEN MEN ARRESTED. REMAND GRANTED UNTIL THURSDAY.
As the result of a raid last evening Percy Gallagher, aged 28, made his appearance in the Police Court this morning, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., to answer a charge of keeping a common gaining house at No. 273, Ponsonby Road. The following nine men were charged with being on the premises without lawful excuse: William Brennan, Edwin Smith, Charles Frederick Donald, John William Finnane, David Malavey, Rex Naden, Joshua Eastgate, Albert Small Wales, and Clifford Nixon. Mr. J. J. Sullivan appeared for all of the accused. A remand until Thursday afternoon was granted. Bail was allowed.
