WANGANUI RIVER TRIP.
REMOVAL OF HOUSEBOAT.
TO RETARUKE LANDING
fVrom Our Own Correspondent.)
TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. Mr. G. A. Stanton, chairman of the Taumarunui County Council, states that at Wanganui on Monday Mr. A- S. Burgess informed him that Messrs. A. Hatrick and Co. had definitely decided to remove the houseboat from its present position on the Wanganui River to Retaruke landing. This, it is contended, will be more convenient for the working of the river service, as it will equalise the distance for each day's run, and will provide an alternative route for those who desire to confine the time spent, on the river to two days. The alteration in the position of the houseboat will not cut out Taumarunui as the starting point for tourists who wish to make the full river trip.
