The diamond jubilee of the Confederation of Canada and her birth as a Dominion will be cfflnTflteiuorated throughput her borders even in the Indian and Eskimo settlements in the far North. The reading of a message frbni King George to the Canadian people from A dais in front of Parliament buildings at noon trill inaugurate the celebration to-day. Captain Lindbergh, the hero of the JCew York-Paris flight, is expected to arrive by air oh Saturday, when he will receive a gold jubilee medal s»m!feir to that to be .presented to the <vin« and the Prince of Wales.
Viscount Willingdon. the OoveraorGeneral, and the representatives -in America of the various Dominions have arrived here. They, with the foreign diplomats, will be guests of honour during the celebrations. Birthday greetings have l»een received from Australia, Italy, and Austria. Australia's message reads: congratulations and earnest "wishes for con s tinued development and prosperity. "Although separated by distance we are very close to you in our ideals and. aspirations. Democracy in common ties binds our two nations' in firm allejrianee to the Great British Commonwealth of Nations."'
