Airmen's Wfeftryitig Social Programme. NO HNANOIAL REWARD. HONOLULU, June 30.

Lieutenants Maitland and Hegenberger, the United States army airman, who made a successful flight from California to Honolulu, went through a social programme to-day more wearying than the flight; The day began with a morning call on the Governor* and ended with a dinner and dance in their honour. The usual financial returns of longdistance aviation are not available for the airmen. The prixe of £5000 offered for the Hawaiian flight does not become effective before August 1, and they have declined an offer of £2000 to write their experiences of the flight.
