STATUS OF DOMINIONS.

Imperial Conference Decisions In Practice.

TRANSMITTING MESSAGES,

(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 24. The "Central News Agency" says Hiat commencing from July 1, a change will come into force between the Home and Dominion Governments as a result of the Imperial Conference. This will emphasise that GovernorsGeneral are the representatives of the King and not of the Government. Messages will be transmitted from the Ministers of External Affairs of Hie Dominions instead of from the Governors-General; to whom the Ministers will communicate the text of the messages. The change affects South Africa and Canada. It is already in operation in the Irish Free State. No date has fixed for the change in New Zealand and Australia. Britain is considering the appointment of a special Liaison Department witii representatives in the Dominions.
