SOUTHLAND BEATEN. FIVE CLEAR GOALS WIN. (By Tfclegraph—Press Association.) "" INVERCARGILL; Wednesday. The Canadian Association Football team played its twelfth match in New Zealand at Rugby Park. to-day, when it defeated Southland by 5 goals to 0. The weather ■was fine and the ground was in perfect coiw dition. There was an attendance of 3000 spectators. The visitors gave a particularly bright display. In the first spell they took charge practicatly throughout. Only occasionally did the local men get away, and then their shooting was weak. The score at half-time was 4 goals to 0, Brollery having secured three and Davidson one. In the second spell the home team kept the scoring down to one goal. The Canadians slackened perceptibly, and threw away many opportunities. ' The visitors' iifth goiil came from a Hsht cross hv Gibson to Brollery. who brilliantly headed the hall into-the net. • Tait, * Canada's goalkeeper, "was rarely called upon. The outstanding players were Edmunds. Brollery and Gibson for Canada, and Maxwell, Campbell and McHurdo lor Southland.
