The finding is not to apply to rural industries, which will be dealt with later. In delivering his ruling, Mr. Pidding. ton also announced that the rate for women had been increased by 3/6 to £2 6/ a week. The employees' representative on tin Basic Wage Commission dissented from the judgment..He proposed a basic wage of £4 17/. The employers' representative also dissented from the judgment. He said that with a reduction of the family unit, which was previously taken into consideration in granting the basic wage for a man, his wife and two children, there should be a reduction also in the basic wage.
