WHERE IS IT?
Bishop of London's Episcopal Ring. SERIOUS LOSS DISCOVERED. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 19. Who in Australia has the Bishop of London's episcopal ring? It is just revealed that thie was lost on Dr. Winning ton Digram's world tour. Hi* Lordship's private secretary says tho Bishop does not remember when it was last worn, because he only used it our ceremonial occasions. He has an idea it may have been lost in Australia.
The loss was not discovered until the Bishop's ceremonial vestures were being unpacked, when he was distressed to find the ring was missing from his regalia. A search instituted by the Bishop of Colombo proved fruitless. The ring is not only invaluable from a sentimental viewpoint; its intrinsic worth is considerable. Speaking at the New Zealand dinner the Bishop of London referred to the glorious warmhearted welcome he had received in the Dominion. He specially mentioned the welcome tendered by the Mayor of Christchurch. who was a Baptist minister, a Labour representative, and a jolly good fellow. Hie Lordship said
he had never felt more at home than in New Zealand, whose Archbishops and Bishops were the finest lie met in his world tour. It had been reported that he had said In a letter to the "Times" that after seein lt the Governor-General, the Prime Minister, and the Labour party in New /t-aland he had formed the opinion that the country could only absorb 10,000 migrants a year. He wished to make it clear that the Governor-General had never said anything to him about migration.
