Juiy 2—Ashburton County B.C. July 12, 14, 16—Wellington R.C. July 21—Waimate Hunt Club. ; July 23—South Canterbury Hunt. j July 28, 30 —Gisborne R.C. July 30 —Christchurcb Hunt. 1 , ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS. ] INQUIRER. —Mount Marta fell at the 1 same fence and at the same time as ] ;j Comical. This was at the obstacle' i f[ near the old five furlong post in the ! final round. JIIL DESPERANDUM.—LocheIIa was i "about one hundred yards behind the : | leader when they got over the brush - j fence (just before coming to the seven f furlong post). i S Te Monanui, who is having a spell, is to be put into work again shortly. The Demosthenes filly, Speechless, is etill running out in the paddock, but trainer T. George expects to have her in again at the end of this month. W. D. Young leaves Wanganui to-mor-xow for Napier with Crown Coin and Break o' Day, to fulfil engagements at the forthcoming meetings in Hawke'a Bay. Haerera is having an easy time just fct present. The Heather Mixture gelding will meet likely have his next outing at the Pakuranga Hunt Club meeting in August. The feomeo—Miss Norval filly, •which liad recently joined W. Tozer's team, had "its neck broken a few days ago, which 1b most unfortunate for both the owner and trainer concerned. Rahepoto, whose form over the battens fet the recent Auckland meeting was decidedly promising, may be taken to tTrentham next month to compete in fiurdle events at the Wellington fixture. W. H. Dwyer has now in work Kiosk, ■Jimosa, Paleta, Bank Note, Star Area, and the Humbug—Courante colt. They are being given walking exercise on the roads and should be well forward when the spring racing season opens. D. P. Moraghan, the well-known Ellerslie trainer, is nominating both Master Doon and Kamehameha for races at the Wellington winter meeting. They both appear to have come through their recent races at headquarters in good condition. Salamander was operated on several weeks ago, and will race in the future as a gelding. The son of Polydamon and Gay is a good looking sort, and ehould race in improved form next season, when he will rank as a five-year-old. Nincompoop is stated to be looking well after his racing at Wingatui, where he ran a couple of good races, winding up with a win on the last day. He will be kept going in useful work, as a trip to Trentham is in contemplation next month. Odin, Epicure, Piet ana Corinax, who are members of J. Williamson's team at Ellerslie, are being regularly worked tinder H. B. Cowan's charge. Odin has grown and furnished into a nice looking sort, and is stated to have shown wnsiderable promise as a jumper. Gold Money is the name under which 4the half-sister to King Emerald will j?*ace. This filly, who claims Paper |Money as her sire, is not as well grown its, some of her age at Ellerslie, but she |Ss a sturdily-built youngster, and one ifhat displays a whole lot of quality. Double Mint continues to do well under (Geo. Laing's charge, and has grown into ;* rather nice filly. She has shown a .fair amount of pace on several occasions {in her work at Ellerslie, and will be j given a race at the Pakuranga meetling in August providing she does all right jin the interval.

King Emerald will not be raced again , tin til the spring meetings are to hand. 'JThe Nassau gelding displayed very rpromising form during the autumn, and /has won his way out of hack company. jHe looks likely to become a fairly good next season, when he will <pace as a four-year-old. Baby Bun has been blistered and turned out for a lengthy spell. The Some Boy II filly won several races during the season, but, owing to her lack of size was at a great disadvantage in races -where the fields were large. She should pay her way again next season around the country circuit. A. Jackson has Awangawanga and Vagabond looking in good fettle just at ' present, the former more particularly so (says a Napier paper). He is a quick and clever fencer, with plenty of dash. Vagabond has been given a schooling over the steeplechase fences, and his display was quite assuring. With more experience the probability is that he will make good. Kaihoro, the coming two-year-old fullBister to Kaiti (Lucullus —Suratura), after being broken in by P. P. Neagle, at Taradale, is enjoying herself on her owner's (Mr. P. F. Wall) property at Eatuma. It is intended later on that ehe will be put into work for next seaRon's racing. The Suratura productions have been good stake-earners for their owner-breed'er, Mr. P. F. Wall, as Verbosity, Dissertation and Kaiti have asserted their superiority in many hardfought races. The Wellington Racing Club has Issued the programme for its winter meeting, and there is no material alteration. The Wellington Steeplechase of 1000 sovß is the principal attraction of the first day, the Parliamentary Handicap of 500 sovs of the second day, the Winter Hurdles of 1000 sovs of the last day. The distance of the final hack event of the second day has been increased. from five to six furlongs, but one wishes the club had made it seven furlongs, or at least have placed the seven furlong hack event the last race on the programme. From a spectator's point of view hack sprints of five or six furlongs as the last race on the programme in a failing light are most unattractive .affairs. They are more or less a blind , gamble. Nominations for all events jdOM on Monday, June 20, at 9 pan.

The Lamb is to join R. Brough's team in a week or two. T. George has now definitely decided to take White Bird to Sydney, and will leave on Friday week. Princess Lupin, the pony by King Lupin, from Tinopai, is to be sent to Sydney in a fortnight's time. VALUABLE THOROUGHBREDS. ARRIVE BY THE REMUERA. A valuable consignment of blood stock arrived in Auckland from England by the Remuera on Saturday evening. Among them is the stallion Cockpit, by China Cock from Sanford, and he is to go to Mrs. M. A. Perry's stud at Otatara, Hawke's Bay. Last season Cockpit won the Coronation Stakes at Ascot, while he was second in the Durdans Handicap at Epsom. In 1925 he was third in the Liverpool and Doncaster Cups, while he won the Duke of Cambridge Handicap, one mile, at Newmarket, besides other races. As a two-year-old he scored on a couple of occasions, and altogether was a fairly good performer. Grand Joy, won the Irish 2000 guineas and beat Cockpit in the Durdans Handicap, one mile and a-quarter, at Epsom. Mid Kent was successful in the Two-year-old Plate at Chepstow, was third in a similar event at Warwick and second in the Donchurch Two-year-old Plate at the same meeting. The list of those on the Remuera is as follows:— Cockpit, b h, aged, by China Cock— Sanford, by Santry. Blue Star. 3yrs, by Sunstar—Palm Branch, by Henry the First. Grand Joy, ch h, 6yrs, by Grand Parade—Amoureuse, by St. Amant. Mid Kent, b c, 3yrs. by Gay Crusader —Herodicca, by Roi Herode. Mr. Clever. 4yrs, by Sunstar—Wife of Bath, by St. Simon."

With the exception of Cockpit the consignment is for Mr. A. Parker, and they will go on to Wellington. Cockpit will be taken from Auckland to Hawke's Bay by rail.
