PACIFIC CRUISE.
UTIEKAH BEGINS VOYAGE
Early on the morning of May 28 the yacht Utiekah 111. left her berth at Williapistown, Melbourne, and set out on the first stage of a cruise in the Pacific, which will extend over a period of almost ten months. The Utiekah was to have left Melbourne some days prior, but when preparations for her departure were practically complete trouble developed in her engine-room, and this, combined with the rough weather, prevented her sailing upon the date selected. Sydney is the first port of call for the yacht, which will then proceed to the Solomon Islands by way of Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island, and Tonga. In November the Utiekah will leave the tropics for New Zealand, and in January she will sail for Tasmania, reaching Melbourne at the beginning of the following month in time her captain (Mr. L E.. Giles) to resume his duties as a master .-.at* Melbourne Grammar School. The Utiekah flies the burgee of the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, and her crew of seven are all experienced yachtsmen.
