FINANCIAL REVIEW OF THE YEAR.
Waitemata County Council to-day elected Mr. H. Day aa chairman for the enduing year, in succession to Mr. G. O'Halloran. Mr. Dny has been a member of the council for 15 yean, and has previously served as chairman.
A \o«* was m>ci-s.«ary. as Mr. O'nalloran offered himself for re-election. The voting was:—Day 6. O'Halloran 5. The increase which has taken place in the work of the council dnring the past year is reflected by the figures of tho annual report. They are considerably higher than usual. Total receipts under all heeding amount to £73,541, and the expenditure on the general account totals £(«9,47.*>. Loan expenditure amounts to £45,001 odd, and debentures sold to £4b,b00. The administration expenses have been considerably lessened by the credit to the general account of heavy traffic license fees, which total approximately £3.100. This means that the ridings wiil receive, on a pro rata basis, about. £2000 more than last year.
