PAPATOETOE TRANSPORT.
BUS ROUTE EXTENDED.
TERMINUS AT PUHTNUI KOAD.
For the past six months the southern portion of the Papatoetoe district has not been served by passenger buses, and the question of establishing a service between the corner of Puhinui Road and Great South Road, Papatoetoe, and the citv, was considered by the No. 1 Licensing Authority to-day. The Passenger Transport Company was granted a license to make the extension, a rival application by Mr. C. J. Mahon being declined. Mr. Northeroft, who appeared for Mr. Mahon. said that there was a demand from many residents for a service to Puhinui Road. It was proposed to ran through Mangere. A petition, signed bv 400 Mangere residents, bad been submitted to the Manukau County Council in support of the application. The present service had proved inadequate. j -Mr. Goulding, representing the Passenger Transport Company, said that the only deviation from the existing bus route through Mangere was along Robertson Road.
